The MUSE – Museum of Sciences (Trento, Italy) wins the XIX Luigi Micheletti Award in Glasgow

At a glittering ceremony held in Glasgow at the Riverside Museum (2012 Micheletti Award winner), MUSE - Museo delle Scienze in Trento, Italy was announced as the winner of the 2014 Micheletti Award. The rich programme (seminars, workshops, visits of the city museums) culminated in the presentation of the candidates (17 museums, from 12 European countries) and in the delivery of the Prize to Michele Lanzinger, Director of the MUSE.

The judges said: “The combination of so many contemporary ideas with established museological approaches makes MUSE a state-of-the-art cultural institution with great innovative potential". Congratulations also to the Norwegian Petroleum Museum of Stavanger, winner of the DASA Award. Special mention for the Kaap Skil (Texel, NL). Other finalists were: National Technical Museum, Prague, Czech Republic; Haus der Berge, Berchtesgaden, Germany; The Family of Man Exhibition, Clervaux, Luxembourg.

Representing the Luigi Micheletti Foundation was René Capovin. A strong delegation from the European Museum Academy, which was responsible for the selection and assessment of candidates, was also present.
